DWA 9.6.1 Installer is an .exe installer. Running it on this instance of Win2008 Server (run as administrator - logged in as local admin) results in an empty CMD box appearing for a few seconds and then disappearing. The normal process should be that the CMD box appears and the user then follows DOS prompts and answers questions and the install completes. Tried opening a CMD and running the installer from the command line. this does not change the problem: a second CMD box appears and then disappears after a few seconds. Anybody seen this ? Thanks Sean

Re: DWA 9.6.1 Installer does not run on Win2008 Server Thanks to Xiao Xing from support for the answer which is:- 9.5.1.2 came with Java bundled inside the installer which is why it works. 9.6.1 does not have Java bundled for the installer to use (although it does have Java bundled post-installation for the deployment to use). You have to install Java Runtime first before installing 9.6.1 I used Java Runtime Environment version 7 form Oracle and that worked OK. Sean |

Sean Cannot find that specified under the "Rational DOORS 9.6.1 Detailed System Requirements"... And I do believe it should be. I had a similar problem once when trying to install on a Linux server, the installer seemed to need quite some components (like browser functions to access internet) that were not installed... /sekrbo |
